# Placements

Special characters are currently not allowed in the namespace and environment fields due to backend validation. This limitation will be addressed in the upcoming release.

Placements specify the locations where ads are displayed. A campaign's success is often closely tied to its ad placements. Therefore, it's important to select placements that align with your campaign objectives and target demographic. Here are some of the supported placement types:

* Category
* Category cross sell
* Search
* Broad Display (Home)
* Search and category
